Here we are close to 12th season of IPL.
As we are very close to the next IPL season, the cricket in India has got into the T20 mode already. We all know that Indian Premier League is the biggest T20 League in the world, it also hold a cash-rich League and which is going to start it 12th season from 23rd of March 2019.
The first game is set to be played between two of the most popular teams of IPL, Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore.
The IPL is now eleven years old and will soon cross the 12-year old. What started as a bold experiment in 2008 has now become the most lucrative and successful cricket league across the globe. Almost every big name from around the world can be seen lighting up the fields in India every summer. Over the years, the league has been graced by some of the biggest names in the history of the game.
From former stalwarts like Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly, Ricky Ponting, Matthew Hayden, present stars like Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers, MS Dhoni, Chris Gayle, Jasprit Bumrah, Steve Smith, to upcoming stars like Prithvi Shaw, Shimron Hetmyer and Shubman Gill, the league has never seen a dearth of talent.
Askash Chopra, farmer Indian Cricketer who is now very much active at his live commentary, named his all time IPL XI. There are many star cricketers who feature in the tournament and it wasn’t tough for the former Indian cricketer to come up with total eleven names who have dominated the T20 League.
Chopra’s team has many Caribbean names, which isn’t a surprise considering the way cricketers from West Indies rule T20 cricket. There were mostly Indian cricketers but one name which shook the fans was Harbhajan Singh. Many fans were not expecting him to be on the list.
Aakash added Virat Kohli, MS Dhoni and Suresh Raina, the highest run-getter of IPL, into his team as well. When you are talking about IPL, you can’t keep Mr. 360 AB de Villiers out. De Villiers has been one of the most destructive batsmen in IPL.
There is no need to mention, but still, Chris Gayle also found a place in the all-time XI. He is among the greatest of all-time in IPL and T20 cricket.
Indian fast bowling duo, Jasprit Bumrah, and Bhuvneshwar Kumar were picked in the side as well. Talking about them, Chopra said, “When IPL had started I never looked like Indian fast bowlers are going to come to the fore. But Bumrah and Bhuvi have changed that perception.”
