Guptill rectify errors over loss against India

Guptill mark his form an aggressive opening the innings of New Zealand against Bangladesh. Martin Guptill walked out to bat at Hagley Oval and blast his way to another cetury against Bangladesh. Second century in two games in the ongoing series.Martin Guptill Century against Bangladesh

Two consecutive centuries for his side makes a comfortable wins of the game. A set target by Bangladesh was 227 to win in 50 over game. New Zealand creamed off the chase with common strike rate and throughout the game without loosing too many wickets.

Guptill starts the innings with Henry Nicholls, both makes a good start but not enough to reach long partnership. Then Guptill join the skipper Kane Williamson and prove to be the chief architect of the chase as they both makes a 143 partnership. Much like Kane Williamson, who had struggled to get the big scores on the board. Guptill too was struggling for his form during the series with India in New Zealand.

However, it was the failure in the series with India that got him to find faults with his game and worked hard to get on it.

Two ODI’S Played till now as of 19 Feb 2019

In the first match against Bangladesh, Guptill scored 117 run of 116 balls. This time in the second match Guptill got his 118 run in just 88 balls with 14 boundaries and 4 sixes. With this solid innings he took his side to a 8 wickets win over Bangladesh in each of the Matches.

Even the team performance was much better as compared to the innings played by New Zealand against India. As Guptill was declared player of the match for a second consecutive match against Bangladesh. The win was set by the bowlers as well, who bowled out Bangladesh innings to a total of 226 runs on the Board.

Guptill acknowledge the contribution of the whole team against Bangladesh and said. “We always thought we might have the upper hand and the way our bowlers have really set the tone up front has really made it tough for Bangladesh to get away with the bat.”

As New Zealand sets Two wins in the series. Which comfortably sealed the series before the last game to be played. The coming third which will be played on 20 February at University Oval, Dunedin
