Ashwin’s KXIP have been found to have violated the IPL’s Code of Conduct relating to minimum over-rate offences and since this is their first such offense of the ongoing season, the offspinner has been fined INR 12 lakh.
With a five-wicket win chasing down 164, Delhi consolidated their third spot in the points tally and claimed their second victory at home in five outings. KXIP did well to post an above par total, thanks to Chris Gayle‘s 37-ball 69. But their bowlers, dispite having three front line spinners in the attack, failed to create the real opportunity.
KXIP lost its reverse fixture to Delhi by five wickets after the host gunned down their target of 164 runs.
KXIP are at the fourth spot in the points tally and next meet Royal Challengers Bangalore on April 24 in Bengaluru.
During the IPL 2019 season Ashwin was in his second controversy, as he made a Mankading controversy against Jos Buttler of Rajasthan Royals during their ipl clash.
