MS Dhoni moves Supreme Court for ₹40 crore, alleges ‘cheating’ by Amrapali Group.
Captain cool MS Dhoni has filed a plea in the Supreme Court against real estate company Amprapali group. Chennai Super Kings (CSK) skipper has levelled the cheating allegations against the builders. Seeking possession of a penthouse in an Amrapali project and also to include his name in the list of creditors of the company.
MS Dhoni in his plea said that he had booked a penthouse in Amrapali Safari’s Ranchi project but hasn’t got the possession yet. Simultaneously, the management of the Amrapali Group also engaged him as the brand ambassador for promoting projects of the group. Dhoni has said that he was been cheated. As the real estate company did not clear his outstanding amount. The amount promised for its brand promotion — and also did not grant possession of the penthouse.
Dhoni was pulled in a controversy of Amrapali builders.
Last month, Dhoni had approached the Supreme Court seeking a direction to the Amrapali Group to pay him Rs 40 crore due. That due is towards his services to the real estate company as brand ambassador. Dhoni is not the only who has filed a petition against the Amrapali group, 46,000 homebuyers. Who booked flats in various projects of the Amrapali group and have already paid the respective amount for the properties have moved the top court seeking justice and possession.
Amrapali Group is facing financial difficulties nowadays, said reports. Due to which they are not able to complete the projects and give possessions to homebuyers. While MS Dhoni entered into multiple agreements with the Amrapali Group. MS Dhoni’s wife Sakshi has also associated with the charitable wing of the group.

Dhoni bought a five BHK penthouse with a family lounge in Sector 45 in Noida in 2009 for just Rs 20 lakh against the market price of Rs 1.25 crore. He is one of the 655 buyers who got the flats at throwaway prices.
Dhoni’s explanation was tha t the cost concession for him was because he was the brand ambassador of the Amrapali. Dhoni also said as his dues not cleared by Amarpali Group.
